Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of firearms and other safety techniques for protection of self and family; home defense .


More Details: This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense.  This course is for experienced shooters.  Proof of shooting experience can be one of the following: NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA FIRST Steps Course Certificate, NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card, military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or passing the Pre-Course Assessment.
   Students should bring their IL F.O.I.D. Card to class.

IL Concealed Carry Course - Day 2 of 2


IL Concealed Carry License Course - 
The Day 2 Class will be given on these dates:

​Sunday April 29, 2018 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
​Sunday May 27, 2018 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


Classroom location:    ​Classroom will be held at the Motel 6 at 540 N. Milwaukee Ave., Prospect Heights, IL
​Range: Article 2 at 250 Cortland Ave in Lombard, IL

​This course is for more experienced shooters, who have completed an 8-hour firearms pistol course that has been approved by the IL State Police, such as the NRA Basic Pistol Course.  It is also open to active, retired, or honorably discharged members of the United States Armed Forces, who are NOT required to take the Day 1 Course.    Topics include:  Concealed carry tactics, legal issues, and shooting live rounds at the range. Once the student become comfortable hitting the target, we will complete the state qualification course of fire. The state qualification consists of 30 rounds of live fire, with 10 rounds at 10 feet, 10 rounds at 20 feet, and 10 rounds at 30 feet. Students should bring their F.O.I.D. Card, pistol, holster, and ammunition.

The IL Concealed Carry License Day One class will be given: 

​Sunday April 22, 2018           8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday May 20, 2018           8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


​This Course will teach basic pistol safety, how to safely operate, aim and shoot a revolver and a semi-automatic pistol.  You will learn how to load and unload, fire, clean and store your pistol.  In the

classroom, students will learn the parts and operation of revolvers and semi-auto pistols.  Then the students will learn how to stand, hold, aim, and  fire the pistols.  Laser training pistols are then used

to practice aiming and developing proper trigger pull for shooting with accuracy.   Course price for the 2-day 16 hour IL Concealed Carry Course ​is $150.

This basic pistol course gives students the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol or revolver safely. It is approved by the IL State Police to satisfy the first eight hours of training required for citizens to apply for the Illinois Concealed Carry Firearms License. You will learn about handgun parts & operation, ammunition, gun safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, and future shooting activities. Each student will complete classroom and hands on practice using a state-of-the-art laser trainer for "DRY FIRING" to verify skills prior to the range.  If you have a handgun, you may bring it.  If you don't have a firearm, you may rent one from the range or borrow one from the instructor. and will fire approximately 50 rounds of "factory" ammunition.    After registering for the class you want to attend, please go to the Contact Us/make payment page and pay for the class to ensure your seat in the class.  Course price for first day only is $100.  Course price for the full two day 16-hour course is $200.
