Utah Concealed Firearms Permit Course

Do you plan to travel from state to state, and want to be armed during your travels?  This course will provide the student with the necessary prerequisite to apply for the Utah Concealed Firearms Permit (CFP), which is honored in 38 states.  Upon completion of the course, students will submit the Utah CFP application, along with the $51 Utah application fee.  Fingerprinting services will be included, to submit to Utah for a background check.  The below map shows states (black & blue) that honor Utah's CFP.

Illinois 16-hour Concealed Carry License Course


This course is the required 16 hour course needed for those citizens who plan to apply for the IL Concealed Carry Firearms License, and have not completed a prior pistol training course .  The course is split into two days, each with an 8 hour course of firearms instruction.  Day one is the above listed NRA Basic Pistol Course, which is aimed at the student who has little or no experience with firearms.  The first day's lessons will teach basic gun safety, handling, operation, and the fundamentals of how to shoot a pistol accurately.  Day two will cover concealed carry of a pistol, legal issues, and the IL CCL range qualification course.  Sign up for this course at the Contact Us / Make payment page.

IL 8-hour Concealed Carry License Course


This course is for more experienced shooters, who have completed an 8-hour firearms pistol course that has been approved by the IL State Police, such as the NRA Basic Pistol Course.  It is also open to active, retired, or honorably discharged members of the United States Armed Forces, who are exempt from having to take the first 8 hour course/Day 1.  This course consists of Day two of the above 16 hour IL CCL Course.

NRA Basic Pistol Course

Short Description : Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely.

More Details: This 8 hour course gives students the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol or revolver safely. This Course will satisfy the requirements for the first 8 hours of training for the IL Concealed Carry Firearms License . Student will learn about handgun parts & operation, ammunition, gun safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, and future shooting activities. Student will complete classroom and hands on practice using a state-of-the-art laser trainer for "DRY FIRING" to verify skills prior to the range.  Student will bring a handgun in good working order and will fire approximately 50 rounds of "factory" ammunition. A FOID card is required if you bring your own firearm. If you don't have a firearm, one may be rented from the range, or you may use the instructor's pistol.    **  Important Note:  DO NOT bring any ammunition into the classroom  **


 





Short Description : Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense.

More Details: This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development.   Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and course completion certificate.  NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm) to maximize what can be learned from this course. Proof of shooting experience can be one of the following: NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA FIRST Steps Course Certificate, NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card, military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or passing the Pre-Course Assessment.

 

























































The 16-hour IL Concealed Carry License Course is $180 per student, and includes study materials and targets.  

The 8-hour IL Concealed Carry License Course is $100 and includes targets.

The NRA Basic Pistol Course (by itself)  is $100, which includes books and study materials and targets.  

The NRA Personal Protection In The Home Course is $175 and includes the study materials and targets.

The NRA Personal Protection Outside The Home Course is $175 and includes study materials and targets.

The Utah CFP Course is $80 per student.  No range firing is required.
